Tour Program

  • Tour description

Pompeii was a town that disappeared from the maps and from people’s memories as it got completely buried under the ashes erupted by the volcano in 79 AD. That dramatic day, in a matter of few hours, stopped the lives of an entire bustling city to only come unearthed many centuries later. These ruins give an incredible picture of ancient Romans’ daily life and their original urban setting: homes, shops, frescoes, thermal baths, mosaics and much more. Included in this tour there is a stop to a Cameos and Corals workshop, to learn more about this ancient art-craft, for which the Neapolitan school is still considered of great importance. Cameos in particular are carved sea shells representing scenes of mythological deities. Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to the beating heart of Sorrento, an historical center crowded with tourists with many nice local activities to do: stop for a coffee in one of the many bars in the area, try the famous lemon-based liqueur called Limoncello in one of the many factories still deeply rooted in ancient production methods, enjoy shopping in the streets of the center or take a trip near the port area to breathe some sea air. You can visit the Municipal villa, The Correale di Terranova Museum with its Capodimonte porcelain and its paintings from the 600s, the Cathedral and the Sedile Dominova.

Don’t hesitate to book your tour through Napoli City Vision!

My husband and I had a fabulous trip from the Bay of Naples to Pompei then on to the Amalfi coast drive. Regretfully, I forget the name of our wonder Pompei tour guide. She was very informative and professional as she related the day today lives of the people of Pompei. She added humor and her English was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. To see all of Pompei it could take days, so we appreciated that our guide pinpointed areas of interest. After a good lunch at a nearby restaurant, we were off for our Amalfi coast drive.

AMEILA added lots of interesting stories and kept us quite entertained as we made stops at a limoncello shop, scenic overview points, and finally our “free time” in Amalfi. The views along the drive were spectacular! Though I would not have wanted to drive and navigate the roads along the coast, GIOVANNI was a terrific driver and maneuvered our van through the narrow streets like a pro. Amelia and Giovanni complemented one another and made for a memorable day! Special thank you to both of them!
